CILICIA, Tarsus. Gordian III. AD 238-244. Æ (35mm, 22.51 g, 6h). Radiate, draped, and cuirassed bust right; c/m: rosette / Hercules standing left, holding club set on ground and apples of Hesperides; to left, a serpent entwined around a tree. SNG France 1669 (same dies); SNG Levante –; for c/m: Howgego 448 (only recorded at Antioch). Fine, mottled brown, red, and black patina, minor pitting.
